Dusty Baker Student Athlete Resource Center
Our Mission: The Dusty Baker Center (DBC) is committed to providing student athletes with services that support their academic and intercollegiate sport goals while enrolled at American River College. The DBC, consistent with American River College’s mission, is dedicated to a supportive, inclusive environment that inspires critical thinking, learning and achievement, as well as responsible participation in intercollegiate sports.
In support of its mission the Dusty Baker Center coordinates the following holistic services for its student athletes:
- Athletic counseling
- Eligibility support
- Individualized academic support (tutoring, study skills, time management skills, peer mentoring)

The DBC was named in honor of Dusty Baker, who started his glorious baseball career here at American River College. Dusty later came back and provided the funding to build this resource center for student athletes. The center was dedicated to Dusty Baker in 2011.
