Josh Ford - Men's Water Polo

Josh Ford plays Men's Water Polo at American River College during the fall 2018 season. Josh has been a leader in his team and the men look up to him. Josh comes from a background of coaching water polo at the high school level in his hometown of Visalia.

Josh previously attended American River College in 2014 after exiting the foster care system. He had struggled with full time units, full time athletics, as well as other commitments. In 2015, he returned to his hometown to save money and develop the youth water polo program. After coaching the fall of 2017, Josh's student athletes convinced him to redeem one more year of competition at the community college level and finish his education. In order to be eligible for fall water polo as well as get back in shape, Josh had to dedicate the spring of 2018 to 15 units of coursework in addition to many hours of water polo conditioning. Josh completed all 15 units with a 3.0 GPA while maintaining a management position at his employment and did not miss a single day of conditioning.

This fall, Josh has helped lead a team to many ARC firsts such as beating West Valley, DVC, and Sierra Colleges. He continues to excel in the classroom in addition to being one of the strong leaders on a historic ARC team. With reaching just half of the season, Josh is on track to replacing the current ARC steals as well as assists records.

Josh aims to finish his education at ARC and continue to study to become an English Professor as well as write in the summers.
