Bio

Jerry Kushner joined the current ARC Football Staff in April of 2014. He will serve as the Director of Football Operations. Other duties include Defensive Quality Control and Fundraising.
A native of Edmonton Alberta, Jerry attended McNally HS and was selected to participate in the Edmonton Eskimo camp for the top high school players in the city following their senior year. He then played football and graduated from Dickinson State ND in 1981 with a BA in Business Administration and earned an MS in Kinesiology from Sacramento State in 2001. After college he spent a brief time with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the CFL. As a player and a coach Jerry is entering his 48th year of involvement in the game of football.
His coaching career started in 1982 as a coach with the Edmonton Wildcats which led to coaching jobs in North Dakota, Arizona and California. He served as an assistant at Sacramento State during the Mattos and Volek eras. As part of the 1988 Sac State Staff, the Hornets reached the playoffs and played in the Semi Finals for the National Championship. Jerry previously was at ARC as the Running Backs Coach during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. In 2005 ARC played to a perfect 10-0 season and saw the team play in the Shrine Bowl. Additionally Jerry has coached high school football in the Sacramento area, most recently as the Defensive Coordinator at Laguna Creek High School.
Jerry has served on the Stinger Foundation Board at Sacramento State and is currently a board member of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of The National Football Foundation. He is currently the Chairman of the NFF’s San Joaquin Section High School All Section Team.
Jerry is entering his 29th year of teaching and is currently a PE Teacher in Sacramento. Jerry and his wife Kathy currently live in Carmichael with their dogs Sidney and Molly.
