Bio

Coach Marshall enters his 7th year at his alum, continuing in his role as a defensive backs coach working primarily with the safeties. Marshall is a graduate of CSUS ’09 with a degree in psychology and a graduate of Grand Canyon University ’13 with a masters in Professional Clinical Counseling.
In 2014 Coach Marshall created M.A.A.D Skillz (Mental Awareness And Development Skillz) a mental skills training and performance consulting service aimed at helping individuals improve performance in all areas of life. Since creation of the program Coach Marshall has been working closely with many current Beaver players as well as other college and pro athletes on improving their mental skill sets, including Jordan Kunaszyk now Senior LB at Cal Berkeley. In the fall of 2015 Coach Marshall created a non-profit organization called MAAD Society. MAAD Society’s mission is to help cultivate and empower the minds of young inner city athletes helping to prepare them for success on the field, in the classroom and later in life. In addition to mental skill building classes the MAAD Society hosts a weekly student athlete support group for athletes to get help, connect and share their experiences with others.
After graduating from Grant High School as a student-athlete, Coach Marshall played wide receiver and defensive back at ARC in 2001 and 2002. He then went on to play defensive back at Northern Michigan University for a season. Coach Marshall returned to Sacramento and began coaching Baseball at Grant High from 2004 – 2012. In addition, he spent four football seasons (2009-2012) coaching defensive backs at Grant High before joining the staff at ARC in 2013 as the Defensive Backs Coach. In his four seasons, Marshall has cultivated a dynamic group of players who have moved on to the four year level on scholarship. Those include all-conference and all-region performs Malcom Scott, Robert Sanders.
