HOME OF THE AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS

Beavers pitching woes continue, drop two to Hartnell

American River College continued to struggle on the mound this weekend, allowing 22 runs in two games to previously winless Hartnell College in Salinas.  The Beavers dropped the Friday game 10-6 despite A.R.C. out-hitting the Panthers 14-9 on the day.  P/DH Kirby Broadbent (Oakmont) led the way with a 4x5 day at the plate, but suffered the loss, allowing 7 runs through 5 innings.  CF Brandon Raposa (Woodcreek) added three hits in 4 trips to the plate.  The Beavers had four doubles on the day.

Saturday was even worse as nothing seemed to work, as the offense managed just 5 hits, two in the 9th inning.  Defensively the Beavers made three errors and had several other miscues which led to several hits and several runs for Hartnell.  The pitching struggled as well, allowing 19 hits and walking 6.  The Beavers travel to Mission College in Santa Clara on Tuesday to face Mission College, then go up I-5 to face Shasta College in Redding on Wednesday.
