Last season American River had the state leader in triples (Jimmy Lunardelli) and saves (Mike Marlar), and this year Mike Hatfield (Del Campo) finished the season tied for the state lead in sacrifice bunts with 14.  "Mike did a tremendous job buying into the team concept and understanding what he really does well", says head coach Doug Jumelet.  "He played a big role for us in getting guys into scoring position and that is why you see some of the guys hitting in the lower part of the order with a lot of RBI's.  He did a great job for us this year."
