Beavers get back on winning track, down Laney 15-1

After getting swept at home in a doubleheader to Butte College on Saturday, American River College bounced right back and downed Laney College 15-1 in Oakland on Tuesday.  The Beavers tallied a season high 26 hits, led by freshman Will Floyd who was 5x6 on the day.  Among his hits were his first double of the season and his first RBI's of the year.  Sophomore DH Alex Dodd (River City) had 3 hits on the day and knocked in 4 runs.  8 of the 9 starters in the Beavers line up had a multi-hit game.  Sophomore LHP Andrew Wiesenfarth (Rio Americano) had a little bit of a rough start, as he allowed a run in the first on a pair of doubles, then allowed a hit in the second inning, but that was all the offense that the Eagles could muster, as they had no hits after the second inning.  The win improves Wiesenfarth to 4-0 on the season, as he went 7 innings, allowing just the one run on three hits.  He was a bit wild though, as he walked five, including four leadoff batters, but he also struck out 5 on the day.

The Beavers return home on Thursday to play Mission College at 2:00 p.m. at Beaver Field.
