Beavers drop game at Solano

Beavers drop game at Solano

American River College hit a bit of a funk on Tuesday, as the pitching faltered and the offense got hits, but could not get the clutch hits in falling to Solano College 8-3 in Fairfield.  The game started out well as the Beavers scored twice in the top of the first.  DH Alex Dodd (River City) doubled in a run with one out, then LF Justin Hanlin (Whitney) hit a sac fly to right to drive in SS Will Floyd (Rocklin).  Sophomore LHP Andrew Wiesenfarth (Rio Americano) struggled right out of the gate as he too allowed two runs in the first inning.  Wiesenfarth was only able to retire the leadoff batter of an inning once in his 5 innings of work.  He wound up walking four on the day.  Freshman Freddy May (Folsom) who had been almost unhittable the first half of the season, struggled today as he walked three and hit a batter in 2/3 of an inning as Solano extended their lead in the 6th inning from 4-2 to 8-2, on just one infield single.

Sophomore CF Cade Parker (Yreka) had three hits on the day, as did SS Will Floyd.  A.R.C. and Solano will conclude their season series on Thursday at Beaver Field at 2:00 p.m. That will be the Beavers final non-conference game before heading into BIG 8 Conference play next week.
