Hanlin's big day for naught as Beavers lose to Sac City

Freshman LF Justin Hanlin (Whitney) had a big day at the plate, a single, double and an home run, but it was in a losing effort as American River College could not contain the Panthers bats in an 11-5 loss.  Hanlin also reached base on a hit by pitch in the 7th inning, but he was hurt on the play, ending his day.  Sophomore LHP Andrew Wiesenfarth (Rio Americano) struggled on the mound, lasting just 2 2/3, his shortest outing of the year and giving up 7 runs on 9 hits.  The Beavers offense did manage to keep the team in the game however, scoring in 4 of the first five innings and having at least on runner on in every inning but the first and the 9th.  2B Matt Clarke (Bella Vista) added a pair of hits on the day as well.  The two teams match up again on Thursday at Beaver Field at 2:30 p.m.
