Gunter throws well again, but Beavers lose 4-1
American River College dropped Thursday's game to cross-town rival Sac City 4-1 on Thursday, giving Sac City the season series over the Beavers. Sophomore RHP Micah Gunter had another really good outing on the mound, taking a shutout into the 7th inning before an unearned run tied the game at one apiece in the 7th. The Beavers had scored in the bottom of the first after freshman DH Will Floyd (Rocklin) scored from first with two outs on a double to right center by sophomore C Joaquin Sequeira (Antelope). With the score tied in the 8thGunter gave up a leadoff double which later scored on a one out single to right. With two outs the Panthers hit another double to score a pair of runs and take the score to 4-1.
The two teams finish off their series on Saturday at Union Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
