American River College scored early and often on Tuesday in defeating Modesto Junior College 11-6.  Sophomore LHP Andrew Wiesenfarth (Rio Americano) threw 6 2/3 of shutout baseball to pick up the win.  Wiesenfarth left with the bases loaded and two outs, allowing freshman RHP Greysen Pulsipher (Cosumnes Oaks) to record the final out of the inning.  Modesto did touch up relievers Tyler McCombs (Antelope) and Craig Broadman (Arcata) for 6 runs in the 8^th inning, but sophomore closer Ian Codina (Oakmont) shut the door in the 8^th and 9^th to seal the win. 

The Beavers offense pounded out 16 hits on the day, led by SS (Will Floyd's) 3 singles.  A.R.C. tallied 5 doubles on the day, including a first inning double off of the left-center field fence by 3B Sonny Ledford (Rio Americano) to drive in the first run of the game.  It was Ledford's team leading 10^th double of the season.  After a scoreless 2^nd inning, A.R.C. scored 4 times in the 3^rd inning thanks to 5 straight hits with one out. The Beavers extended their lead with a run in the 6^th inning, three in the 7^th and two in the 8^th. 

The two teams are scheduled to play on Thursday at 2:30 at Beaver Field.
