Micah Gunter commits to Simpson University

Sophomore RHP Micah Gunter announced that he will continue his education and baseball career at Simpson University in Redding, CA next fall.  Gunter came to A.R.C. after having a stellar career at Valley Christian Academy in Roseville where he was named a small-school All-State player as a shortstop after his senior year in 2015.  He also helped lead the Lions to a section title.  He started his freshman year at A.R.C. as an outfielder and pitcher, and by the end of his freshman campaign he became a starter in the rotation.  He spent his sophomore year as the Beavers Thursday starter in the rotation.  He led the BIG 8 Conference in innings pitched in conference with 53 and was 2nd  in overall innings pitched with 82 1/3. He also was named the BIG 8 Conference Rawlings Gold Glove nominee for pitchers.

"We are very happy for Micah that he got an offer that will enable him and his family to take care of his education financially as well as they will be able to see him play close to home for the next two years.  His progress and growth over the past two years has been really fun to watch and he will always be part of the A.R.C. family.  Simpson is very fortunate to not only have a player of his caliber but a person of his caliber as well", said Head Coach Doug Jumelet.
