Sophomore LHP/DH Andrew Fuentes has committed to play for Sonoma State University next season, American River Head Coach Doug Jumelet announced.  Fuentes signed a letter of intent to play for the SeaWolves next season.  Sonoma State has been a Division II power under head coach John Goelz and is perennially near the top of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings.  Since Coach Goelz took over Sonoma State has won 10 conference championships, has 13 regional appearances and 2 College World Series appearances.

"I am really happy for Andrew", said head coach Doug Jumelet.  "He has really matured and showed a tremendous amount of improvement this year, especially at the plate.  He became a force for us and hopefully he can carry that over into his junior and senior years.  He still has a ton of potential on the mound where I think he may flourish even more.  I am really proud of him and happy for his family to see him off to college as well.  His personality and love of the game will be missed here."
