It was supposed to be a day game but the American River College baseball team played a rare night game on Thursday at Folsom Lake College.  The game was scheduled at 2:30 but there was a snafu with the officials' schedules so the game did not start until 5:35 p.m.  The Beavers struggled at the plate early again, but freshman Collin Carriger (Bella Vista) kept the game close.  He did allow a run in the 3^rd inning and two more in the 4^th, but that was all that he would allow through 7 strong innings of work.  The Beavers had just two hits through the first 5 innings but got the score even in the 6^th.  DH Justin Borchard (Woodland)(pictured) singled to lead off the inning, followed by a single from SS Matt Clarke (Bealla Vista).  CF Logan Hall (Oakdale) then laid down a bunt and Folsom Lake's pitcher threw wildly to third allowing Borchard to score.  3B Will Floyd (Rocklin then singled up the middle to score two and tie the game.  A.R.C. would then get runners to 2^nd and 3^rd with one out but could not score any more that inning.  They did however take the lead in the top of the 7^th after Borchard walked to lead off the inning the Beavers loaded the bases with no outs.  Floyd struck out but C Nick Huddlestun singled to center to score Borchard and give the Beavers the lead.  RF Justin Bejarano (Elk Grove) then hit a sharp ground ball to third but it ended up being an inning ending double play.  Sophomore Freddy May (Folsom) came on in the 8^th in relief of Carriger and allowed an unearned run to tie the game on a single up the middle.  After the Beavers couldn't score in the 8^th or 9^th May was still in to pitch in the 9^th.  After recording the first two outs in the 9^th Folsom Lake's third baseman Anthony Mislinski launched a walk-off home over the left field fence to send the Beavers home.  It was the first walk-off home run that A.R.C. had allowed since 2016 when Santa Rosa's Jake Scheiner hit a walk-off three run blast off of Ian Codina (Oakmont) in Santa Rosa. 

A.R.C. 1B Lane Field (Whitney) was held hitless in four at-bats to break his 14 game hitting streak.  The two teams will meet again on Friday at A.R.C. at 1:00 p.m. for the rubber match in the series.
