In only the second year of playing against each other Folsom Lake evened the all-time record against each other at 3 games apiece with a 17-8 victory at Beaver Field on Friday.  American River took two out of three from the Falcons last season and Folsom Lake returned the favor this year.  The game was moved up to a 1:00 p.m. start to try to allow the teams and support staff to get an early jump on the Easter weekend, but the 4 hour and 15 minute game wiped away any hopes of beating the rush hour traffic.  Both teams went scoreless in the first inning, but then Folsom Lake erupted for 9 runs in the 2^nd inning, with all 9 being charged to A.R.C. starter Hayden Josephson (Granite Bay).  The Beavers returned fire though scoring twice in the bottom half of the inning, as CF Logan Hall (Oakdale) singled home SS Matt Clarke (Bella Vista) who had singled to start the inning and advanced on a wild pitch.  Hall then stole second and came around to score on a sac fly by C Casey DeMello (Valley Christian).  Freshman Shawn Roberts (Del Campo) came on to pitch the 3^rd inning and he allowed a leadoff home run followed by three more runs to put the Beavers down 13-2.  The Beavers bounced back with another run, this time Matt Clarke singled in 1B Lane Field (Whitney) who had singled to lead off the inning.  Freshman Chris Nam (Kailani, HI), pictured, came on in the 4^th inning and he too allowed a leadoff home run,  but he would stay in to throw four innings, allowing just the one run in his best outing of the season.   While Nam was holding the Falcons scoreless A.R.C. kept scoring, picking up two runs in the 5^th, one more in the 6^th and two more in the 7^th to bring the score to 14-8.  After Lane Field singled home freshman C Collin Martin (Casa Roble), LF Blake Spencer (Rio Americano) singled home 2B Christian Murua (Grant) who had walked.  Murua would end up 2x4 with a 2B and a 3B on the day.  After Spencer's RBI single that brought up DH Justin Hanlin (Whitney) with the score 14-8 and a pair of runners on base but Hanlin could not do any more damage that inning.  The game would go scoreless through the 8^th, but Folsom Lake would put it away with three runs in the 9^th off of freshman RHP Nick Perry (Rio Linda) who walked three and allowed a pair of hits in the inning. 

In addition to Murua having a stellar day at the plate Lane Field was 4x6 with a RBI.  American River College now moves on after the Easter weekend to play a three game series against cross-town rival Sac City College beginning Tuesday at Beaver Field at 2:30 p.m.
