It didn’t take Steve Holm long to make an impact as a head coach at the Division 1 level. After successful stints as an assistant coach at Sac State and Purdue University, the former Beaver player lead the Illinois State Redbirds to their first ever regional final and a 36-26 record in his first year.

Sophomore third baseman Sonny Ledford (Rio Americano, pictured) won the BIG 8 Conference Gold Glove Award for corner infielders it was announced on Wednesday.
Beavers close out season with 7-1 win

On the final day of the 2019 season the American River College baseball team found a way to win their first conference series, defeating Cosumnes River College 7-1 at Beaver Field.

American River College went on the road for the final time in 2019 and picked up a win against Cosumnes River College on Thursday. For the 2nd straight game the Beavers rapped out 15 hits, including an inside-the-park home run from Ian McIsaac (Davis) to down the Hawks 10-6.

Farrell's big day still not enough for Beavers

Freshman 2B Dillen Farrell (Antelope, pictured) had the best day of his college career on Friday at Santa Rosa as he hit a two-run homer-the first of his career- and he had an RBI single driving in all three of the A.R.C. runs but the Beavers still fell to the Bear Cubs 4-3.

Cross-town rival Sacramento City College was fresh off a sweep off a three game sweep of Sierra College in which the Panthers scored 33 runs but the American River College pitching staff limited Sac City to just four hits and two unearned runs.
