Alumni BP Blue vs. White game/BBQ
Mother Nature gave the American River College Baseball program a gift Saturday as it was a beautiful day at Beaver Field for the 16th annual Alumni BB, BBQ and Blue vs. White Intrasquad game. The day started with several of the alumni in attendance taking batting practice and putting on a home run display. After the alumni hit the 2019 A.R.C. baseball team put the uniforms on for the first time and had a 6 inning intrasquad game with most of the pitchers throwing one inning each. After the game the BBQ was delicious, once again being catered by O'Connors Santa Maria Grill of Orangevale. Kirt Duncan of Pepsi donated drinks for the event as well.
"It was a great day and it was really nice to see those guys again. It's always a fun day but even moreso when the weather turns out as nice as it did", said Head Coach Doug Jumelet.
Alumni in attendance included Rob DeGan (1992), Doug Jumelet (93), Quinn Monsma (03), Andy Dahl (03), Johnny Zepeda (04), Preston Vancil (07), Tim Fitzgerald (08), Mark Leacox (08), Joe Whitehead (09), Greg Meyer (10), Andrew Lojewski (13), Austin Call (15), Dalton deVries (15), Steve Mercado (15), and Dillon Bowers (16).
The Beavers begin the 2019 season next Friday at Beaver Field at 2:00 p.m. against West Valley College.
