Beavers Slide Continues at DVC
BEAVERS SLIDE CONTINUES AT DVC
American River College’s losing streak continued on Friday at Diablo Valley College as the Beavers lost 13-0. Starting pitcher Wyatt Winalski (San Juan) was the victim of some shaky defense in the first three innings as the Beavers were charged with three errors but there were several plays that should have been made. In the first inning the Vikings scored twice, with the second run coming on a two out fly ball to center that was lost in the sun by freshman CF Trevor Crockett (Del Campo). Freshman LHP Anthony Ocanas (Woodland) came on in relief of Winalski and threw four shutout innings but with two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 7th Ocanas walked a batter, then gave up a two strike triple followed by four straight singles. Freshman RHP Kyle Ablog (Casa Roble) finished the 7th and threw a scoreless 8th for the Beavers. Sophomore SS Kevin Taylor (Thousand Oaks) and 2B Alejandro Belo (Vanden) each doubled for the Beavers.
ARC will host Sierra College on Tuesday and Saturday next week and travel to Rocklin on Thursday.
