Bio

Lou returns to the Beavers this year after having joined the staff in January of 2017.  This is his seventh season with the team, having been an assistant coach at Oakmont High School for 20 years before joining the Beavers.  Lou will again assist as a bench coach this season and has a passion for teaching bunting, baserunning, and hitting.  Lou grew up in the Bronx, NY and moved to California where he graduated from Gardena High School.  He got his degree in marketing from Long Beach State, then joined the United States Air Force, where he earned the rank of Captain.  After returning from his military duty in Vietnam he moved to Sacramento where he joined the Sacramento Police Department.  He retired from the Sac P.D. after 25 years on the job in 1996 where he began coaching at Oakmont High School.  In addition to coaching at Oakmont, Lou managed in the Sacramento Men’s Senior Baseball League (MSBL) for 17 years and his teams won 10 league titles.  His teams recorded separate 25 and 56 game winning streaks.  He also guided an all-state team to a gold medal in the 1998 Nike World Games in Oregon.  Lou is a member of the National MSBL Hall of Fame as well as the Sacramento MSBL Hall of Fame.  He has made an incredible number of donations to the program this year in trying to better the program for the players.  Lou lives in Roseville.
