The 15 seniors on the Yellow Jacket football team needed a little help Saturday to finish their careers with a winning season.

They got just what they needed from junior defensive back Moises Valcarcel.

The Carmichael, California, native intercepted two passes, forced two fumbles - recovering one while a teammate recovered the other, and helped block a field goal as WVSU won 45-28 at West Virginia Wesleyan.

Because of his effort Valcarcel has been named the Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The turnovers came at opportune times also.

With WVSU leading 21-7 in the second quarter the Bobcats were driving but Valcarcel forced his first fumble at the Yellow Jacket's 15-yard line and fell on it.

Both of his interceptions, one he returned 30 yards, came in the fourth quarter when WVSU was trying to seal the win.
