Bio

Coach Joey Hew Len is in his 5th season of coaching at American River College and is excited to be working with the Wide Receiver Group and the Punt and Kick-Off Returners. 

Before coaching the Beavers, Hew Len spent the last 7 years coaching at his Alma Mater El Camino High School 02’ in Sacramento as a Varsity Offensive Coordinator and a Wide Receiver Position Coach. 

Coach Hew Len attended Sierra College from 02’-04’, where he played Wide Receiver. During his time there the Wolverines went 23-1. After walking on at the University of Hawaii, Hew Len received a scholarship to attend the University of Southern Utah (SUU) 08’, where he studied and graduated with a Kinesiology Degree. There he led the team in his Junior year with 8 touchdowns, over 30 catches for 500 yards, and earned All-League Honors. His Senior year at SUU he led the league in all receiving categories, with over 50 catches for 800 yards, 13 touchdowns, and received First Team All League. 

After college, Coach Hew Len took his talents to the Indoor Football League playing 3 seasons with the Tri Cities Fever Football team. In 2011, he led the league with 60 catches, 29 touchdowns, and received First Team All-League Honors. Additionally, he played Semi-Pro Football for the Capital City Fury in Sacramento, where he won multiple championships. 

Currently Coach Hew Len is a full-time Physical Education Teacher and happily married. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, friends, and watching sports.
