Beavers Excel at Big 8 North Conference Tournament - Qualify 6 Singles Players and 3 Doubles Teams for State Championships

The Beavers hosted the annual Big 8 North Conference Tournament at the Donnely-Freund Tennis Complex. Each conference team is allowed to enter six singles players and three doubles teams into the tournament. The quarterfinalists in singles and doubles qualify for the State Individual Championships at Ojai. All six Beaver entries in the singles reached at least the quarterfinal, meaning all players qualified for Ojai. Ravi Nelson, the #1 seed in the tournament beat #3 seed, Lenny Lin, in the singles final. Lin beat Folsom Lake #1 player, and tournament #2 seed, Diego Rodriguez, in the semifinal by the score of 7-5, 6-3. Other Beaver singles qualifiers included Parker Perdue, Shane Timmons, and Julian Bilbao.

In the doubles ARC was just as dominant, with all three Beaver entries reaching the semifinals and qualifying for Ojai. In the final the #1 seeded Beaver team of Spencer Hill/Ravi Nelson beat the #4 seeded ARC pairing of Julian Bilbao/Parker Perdue in straight sets. The #2 seeded ARC team of Jack Hall/Lenny Lin were forced to pull out of the semifinal against Bilbao/Perdue due to injury.

It was a great tournament for the Beavers, and they look forward to their first-round playoff match against the Solano Falcons on Tuesday, April 11th
