For the 6^th time in 8 seasons, the American River Men's tennis team won the NorCal team championship. This season the Beavers relied on their depth and team energy to get the job done against a talented Chabot team. Highlights on the day included dominant doubles wins from Enrique Silveira/Gavin Sonntag (#1) and TR Sharma/Shane Timmons (#3) to give the Beavers a 2-1 lead going into the singles. In the singles ARC competed extremely well at every position. Gavin Sonntag was up 6-1, 5-2 against the NorCal #1 seed, Darian Quinonez, when the team match was clinched. Sharma won the clinching match at #4 by winning 6-2, 6-1. Timmons (#5) and Ty Maimer (#6) also won straight-set matches to help lead ARC to victory. The Beavers will play Ventura College on Wednesday, 4/24 at 11:00a for the California state championship.
