Bio

Bo Jabery Madison has been the head coach for the American River College men's tennis team for 18 years. In that time, the team has compiled a record of 251-73 with 12 conference titles and the team has qualified for the state playoffs in each season. In addition, the program has finished in the top 10 of the state rankings 15 times and has been ranked in the top 5 of the state rankings in each of the last 10 seasons. In 2023 the team had a 14-6 record, and went 13-2 against community colleges. Among their 16 total wins were victories NAIA division William Jessup University (4-3), and 7 shutouts against community college opposition. They won the Big 8 North conference championship for the 11th straight season and finished as the #3 ranked team in the state. In addition to the on-court success, the American River men's tennis team has won the men's tennis State Team G.P.A. award four times (2008, 2009, 2010, 2022) and has consistently transferred players on to four-year institutions on athletic and academic scholarships. The squad earned a cumulative 3.69 team GPA in the spring of 2023, and will be in the running for their fifth State Team GPA Award.

Bo was born in Sacramento and grew up in nearby Carmichael. He competed for the men's tennis team at ARC in 1997 (for Ralph Freund) and 1999 (for Greg Anderson). He made All-Conference First-Team in both seasons, was chosen as team MVP in 1997, and won the conference doubles title in 1999. After his time at ARC he transferred to UC Davis, where he competed for the Aggies in 2000 and 2001. He made the scholar-athlete list in both seasons and in 2001 he was recognized as the team's Most Inspirational Player. After graduating from Davis, he returned to American River in the fall of 2001 as an assistant coach. After three years as assistant coach, Bo took over the head coaching duties in the fall of 2004.
