Santa Clara Bronco Invitational

Santa Clara Bronco Invitational

Baylands Park, Santa Clara

The Beavers ran split squads for the Bronco Invitational again for 2014. In the Invitational, section the Beavers ran their top 10 athletes of their 19-man squad. As a team the ARC Invite men took 15th place among the 23 teams. Not a bad showing, considering the other 22 teams in the race were all 4-year colleges, including several ranked NCAA DI and DII teams – Oklahoma State, Stanford, Cal Poly, Chico State, and several others. Freshman Abdul Hamid took it out early going through the mile in 4:45, 2 miles in 9:37, 3 miles in 14:32, 4 miles in 19:27, then finished up the 8k (actually only 20 meters short of 5 miles) in 24:17 – which is the fastest community college time in the history of the Santa Clara Invitational (edging 2013 ARC star runner Will Reyes time of 24:18). Sean Gregg was ARC's 2nd runner in 25:12, followed by Patrick Jagerson (25:23), Aidan Schraer (25:26), David French (25:33), Jason Morris (25:36), Sean Jagerson (25:55), Logan Stahl (25:56) and Epi Nunez (26:19).
