Fresno Invitational

Fresno Invitational
Woodward Park, Fresno

The Beavers opened up their first race of the season at the 2018 Fresno City Invitational. Returning Sophomore Logan Dodge was the top finisher by placing 15th overall out of 164, which is 7 places better than last year at this meet. Right behind Logan Dodge was Freshman Ben Blankenburg, Sophomore Brent Hunter, and Freshman Josh Kling, only 6 seconds behind Dodge. Freshman Jorge Pena & Peter Vo were close behind the first pack of Beavers, with only a 22 second gap 1-5. Ben Kizziar & Kevin Gonzalez also placed in the top 50. There was a noticeable big pack of Beavers throughout the race. The entire race there was always a Red & White striped singlet within eyesight of one another. The team placed 3rd overall compared to last year's 5th place finish. The men’s team is looking great to start the season and coach Rick Anderson feels as if they are headed in the right direction. The Beavers goal this year is to regain the Northern California Championship title that they held for 7 straight years before surrendering it to Hartnell 2 years ago and get back to the podium at the State Meet.
