Bio

Coach Garrett Seawell is in his 9th year with the program and 1st as Head Men's Cross Country Coach. In that time the Beaver's have been successful on and off the course!

Cross Country Team Achievements:
1 State Title (2015)
2 State Runner-Up (2014, 2019)
4 Northern California Titles (2014, 2015, 2018, 2019)
6 Big 8 Conference Titles (2014, 2015, 2018-2022)

Cross Country Individual Athlete Achievements:

In his time at ARC, 32 athletes have moved on to 4 year schools to continue their academic and running careers as well as many more who moved on to 4 year schools for academics!

Before ARC he competed and earned his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. While running at ASU, Seawell was one of their top runners while being named All Pac-12 in Cross Country (2013) and Track (2014). Prior to Arizona State, Seawell ran for Coach Rick Anderson at American River from 2010-2012. In that time he won the State individual title in 2011 in a course record time that lasted until 2021. His teams were also State Runners-Up in 2010 and State Champions in 2011 with a team course record time that still stands today.

Coach Seawell graduated from Woodcreek High School in 2009. While competing there, he helped lead the team to 3rd place at the California State Cross Country Championships in 2008. He also led Woodcreek to 2 Sac-Joaquin Section Team Titles. Individually, he was SJS Section Champion in 2008 and was a State qualifier in the 3200m in track in 2009.

In 2016, he took an Assistant Coaching job at UC Davis. While there, the women's team was Big West Conference Runner-Ups. He returned to American River College as an Assistant Coach in 2017.

He recieveda a Master's Degree in Kinesiology from Cal Baptist University in 2020
