ARC Softball Announces 2018 Recruiting Class

American River College (ARC) softball is excited to announce that the program is adding several top northern California student athletes this year.

 

Sam Anderson, Sutter High School, C

As a senior, Anderson batted .531 with 51 hits, 48 RBI, 12 doubles, 3 triples and 2 home runs. Her varsity career average was .517 with 112 RBI and a gaudy .836 slugging %.

 

Janella Barrera, East Union High School (Manteca), OF

Barrera has played most recently for the USA Elite 18 Gold Bunac traveling team. She has excellent range in the field and is recognized for her adaptability, speed, and strengths as a teammate. 

 

Jazmin Cobian, Center High School and NorCal Dirtdogs, P

In 2016-17, Cobian's pitching record was 8-3, with an 1.89 ERA, 8 complete games and 3 shutouts. She batted .316 with 11 RBI and 2 home runs. Cobian also played for the NorCal Dirtdogs traveling team.

 

Kirsten Cox, Vista Del Lago High School, OF

Cox brings a career .391 batting average, with 70 hits, 38 RBI and 3 homers. She stole 29 bases over her career and was recognized as honorable mention on The Sacramento Bee 2018 All-Metro team.

 

Alana Isais, Del Campo High School, IF

Isais completed her Del Campo career with a .293 batting average, .356 On Base Percentage, 27 hits, 13 RBIs and 15 Runs. She is slated to play a variety of infield positions with the Beavers.

 

Isabel Hernandez, Antelope High School, IF

Hernandez batted .334 over her Antelope career, with 99 hits and 59 RBI. She is expected to see action at 1B and 3B.

 

Mariah Madan, Sheldon High School, IF

Madan played for the California Yard Sharks, where she had a very successful experience playing SS, 2nd base and outfield. Her batting average was .383 and fielding .967. Coaches praise Madan for her versatility both in the field and lineup, as well as her base-running skills.

 

Ciera Pyle, Biggs High School, SS

Pyle batted .526 as a senior, with 41 hits, 46 runs, and 25 RBI. She was also a perfect 25-25 in stolen bases. In her varsity career Pyle hit .476 with 118 hits, 65 RBI and an 1.216 OPS – stealing 105 bases and only being caught once!

 

Savannah Rogers, Biggs High School, RHP

As a senior, Rogers had a 20-3 pitching record with a tiny 1.46 ERA, 14 complete games and 8 shutouts. She had 130 strikeouts in 115 innings. In addition, she had a .589 batting average with 43 hits, 51 RBI, and 3 home runs. Her varsity career pitching numbers are 37-10, 1.87 ERA, with 308 Ks in 251.1 innings. Her varsity batting totals were .549, 124 hits and 112 RBI.
