Softball Loses a Close Game with Monterey Peninsula 2-3

ARC Beavers fell to Monterey Peninsula College 3-2 on Saturday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at singled, scoring one run. two in the bottom of the eighth when Jordan Chiewpanich Both teams were strong in the circle. Monterey Peninsula College pitchers struck out seven, while ARC Beavers sat down seven. ARC Beavers opened the scoring in the top of the third thanks to two singles. ARC Beavers first got on the board when Bella Garcia singled, scoring one run. S Azzarello homered to left field, which helped Monterey Peninsula College tie the game at two in the bottom of the fourth. Sab Lopez earned the win for Monterey Peninsula College. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out seven and walking two. Breanna Romero took the loss for ARC Beavers. They went seven and one-third innings, surrendering two runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking two.


Rylee Meyer, ARC Beavers's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in four at-bats. Garcia and Kaylah Adams each drove in one run for ARC Beavers. ARC Beavers didn't commit a single error in the field. Madison Demmon had the most chances in the field with nine. Azzarello drove the middle of the lineup, leading Monterey Peninsula College with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Chiewpanich, Azzarello, Kat Manuofetoa, Lopez, and Celeste Camarena each collected one hit for Monterey Peninsula College.
