Lady Beavers hit six new Automatic Qualification Marks in the Aggie Open Meet

Sophomore standout, Kandace Compton led her track and field squad to some great results including her double automatic state standard marks in the Aggie Open at UC Davis last weekend.

She was the first community college athlete finishing 5th overall in the women's 1500 at 4:47.06. Then she doubled with the 800 where she was once again the first community college finisher (7th overall) at 2:18.58. Both marks are currently the fifth and sixth best marks in the state.

Freshman Mackenzie Theiler also hit two automatic standards when she cleared 1.58m in the high jump and then ran her 200 in 26.72, which completed her 5 events for the women's heptathlon. She smashed the automatic qualification of 2400 points with her over 3,000 points in 5 events.

Sophomore Siena Morgan also hit the qualification standard with her 3.25m in the ladies pole vault.

Jenica Dodge, last week's Big 8 female athlete of the week, also hit the automatic mark in the ladies 1500 with her 4:49.83.

Two more provisional marks were also hit in the women's 800 from Jocelyn Schmidt (2:27.64) and Ane Archuleta (2:29.25).

Next up for the lady beavers will be the Bob Rush invitational in San Mateo on Fri. March 20th and Sat. Hornet Invite at Sacramento State University on March 21st.
