Sierra Sheppard broke the ARC school record (for the third time this season) in the Big 8 Conference Championships, on April 24, 2017.    A freshman, from El Camino High School, she won the Conference Title with her 42.75m (140'3").

      The ARC throws coach Mike Curry says, "She works really hard.  I give her all the credit for her accomplishments.  We should just keep the white out on-hand because she is getting ready to really improve".

      Sheppard bests the old 19 year old school record from Barbara Weaver, which was 41.55m/136'4" from 1998.  Next up will be Northern California Championships at De Anza Community College, followed up the CCCAA State Track and Field Championships hosted here at home/ARC on May 19-20, 2017.
