Jeanette Allred-Powless transferred from coaching the Men’s and Women’s Running programs at Sierra College in 2000, back to her Alma Mater at American River College. She spearheaded the development of the most successful athletic program at ARC. That success included her team’s highest academics, graduation rates (nearly 100%) and transfers with scholarships (over 90%). She, and her staff, have not only rewritten the athletic record books at ARC Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Teams, her teams also earned the highest team grade point average including:
Fall 2017 = 3.44 GPA (Cross Country)
Spring 2017 = 3.15 GPA (Track & Field)
Fall 2016 = 3.23 GPA (Cross Country)
Spring 2001 = 3.21 GPA (Track & Field)
Fall 2015 = 3.43 GPA (Cross Country)
2014 = Academic All-State Team (Cross Country)
These women’s teams have garnished 11 Conference Titles, 7 Northern California Titles and were the third team in the history of ARC to win a State Title, in 2007, in Track and Field.
She volunteers with high school and youth sports, including Track & Field, Cross Country, triathlons and cycling. Her youth coaching efforts enabled over 300 youth kids to Junior Olympics/National Championships (2004-2012). Her son and daughter, avid runners and triathletes, are currently both professional athletes racing on World Tour Cycling Teams. Shayna (Sho-Air 20Twenty), and Neilson Powless (Lotto NL Jumbo), will be the first brother/sister in the 2018 AMGEN Tour of California, and hopefully the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
