ARC Volleyballers Sign to Compete at the Next Level

On April 11, 2018 American River College Volleyball team had their first signing ceremony for the year of sophomores moving on to study and continue their volleyball careers at the four year level. Joined by their team, family, and friends, the following #ladybeavers signed their letters of intent:

  • Brianne Whitt signed with William Jessup University – Bri worked hard every step of the way and has been a scholar athlete every semester of her studies at ARC. She has been the heart of the team and is excited to stay close to home so her teammates can come watch her compete at William Jessup.
  • Mary June Ubag signed with CSU Stanislaus – MJ finished the fall 2017 season in 1st place in digs and 2nd place in digs per set in the Big 8 conference.
  • Samantha Naake signed with Friends University – Two years ago, Samantha was approached by the head volleyball coach at the time, Gabe Gardner, and invited to join the team. Having no prior volleyball experience, Samantha has grown into an amazing athlete and teammate. She has also excelled academically, earning a 3.7 cumulative grade point average.

All three ladies have done a tremendous job on the court as well as in the classroom. They have been the heart of the team and led the team to many victories.

This accomplishment is a reflection of not only the players, but also the coaching staff, with Carson Lowden as the Head Coach and Rheann Fall as the Assistant Coach. They have created a community that fosters excellence and yields positive results on the court and in the classroom.
