Fakalata of American River named Women's Volleyball CCCWVCA State Players of the Week!

Awelina Fakalata: American River College. Outside Hitter, 6-2 Freshman (Casa Grande HS, Petaluma)

Fakalata pounded 60 kills as ARC won three of four matches last week. The tall hitter scored 21 kills (.421 percentage) with 13 digs and 3 aces in a sweep over Solano. She added 18 kills, 15 digs and 4 blocks in a 5-set loss to San Mateo. She is #2 in the state in overall kills with 186 (3.96 average per set) and is averaging 3.11 digs. On Sept. 11, she totaled season highs with 26 kills and 25 digs in a 5-set win over San Mateo.
