2017 ARC Women?s Cross Country wins their season opener

With the largest squad ever, the 2017 lady Beavers have the potential to be the best team in the ARC's history. They scored just 24 points (with their first to fifth finisher gap of 1:04), at their season opener at the Sierra College Invitational on Sept. 1, 2017.

Sophomore team captains Danel Camacho (Former Roseville HS), and Aryana Archuleta (former Pleasant Grove HS) both finished in the top six overall. Freshman Haven Lambrite (Whitney HS) was the first lady finisher in second overall, in 20:39 over the challenging, and hot, 3 mile course. Marlee Duane (Ponderosa HS) was fourth, in 20:54, followed by Camacho (5th), and Archuleta (6th). Alyssa Egbert (Bella Vista HS) was the fifth beaver finisher in seventh overall.

Other beaver finishers included sophomore Ashley Albor (Casa Roble HS) in tenth, Jocelyn Brelsford (Bella Vista HS) in thirteenth, Amy Heckeroth (Rio Americano HS) fourteenth, Alison Dewolfe (Pleasant Grove HS) eighteenth and Kahyla Ingman (Center HS) in twenty fifth overall.

"We're all looking forward to a great season with tons of room for improvement. It's going to be really exciting to watch this season" says Head Coach Jeanette Powless.

Up next for the lady beavers will be the State Meet Pre-view hosted by Fresno Community College at Woodward Park on Sat. September 9.
