Lady Beavers Capture 2nd at the Lou Vasquez Invitational

The 2018 American River College Cross Country Team had their season best performance, at the Lou Vasquez Invitational on Sept. 20th, in their third meet of this season.

They opened up in Fresno, on 9/8, as the second best team from Northern California. They finished behind Hartnell, for 5th place overall team. Sophomore Haven Lambrite was 15th in 20:08, slicing an impressive 31 seconds better than she covered the same course last year at this same race.

Their Big 8 Preview, at Hidden Valley Park in Martinez, Ca. was held on 9/14. Here the ladies team finished 2nd by a close margin of just 6 points from Santa Rosa.

In San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, every lady beaver set a new, and improved, season best mark. This year's course was made longer due to ongoing construction. Freshman Marianna Coomes led her squad by finishing 5th overall in 21:38 (over 3.2 miles). Sophomore Emily Wolfe was our second beaver in 14th overall, followed by freshman Natalie Loo. Loo was 17th overall and was also the most improved by cutting over a minute off her previous 5K time.

Next up for the ladies beavers will be the Pirate Invite, in Modesto 9/28, followed by the Nor. Cal. Preview in Redding/Shasta on 10/5.
