Sacramento, Calif. - Freshman Hunter Timothy fanned nine to lead Butte to a 15-2 win over American River on Friday afternoon to nab the series.
Timothy (2-0) went seven complete on the bump, scattering five hits. Freshmen Jackson Parmenter and Shaw Lee combined to close out the game, combined allowing only one hit with a pair of strikeouts.
At the plate, three Roadrunners tallied multi-hit games, while four earned multi-RBI outings. Sophomore Cole Arnold went 2-for-5 with a couple RBI and runs scored, and sophomore Evan Stauch went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Sophomore Landon Gomes rounded out the batters with a pair of hits with all three earning a stolen base.
Butte (11-2) returns home to host American River for the series finale on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m.
