ARC Women’s Swim Team wins 3 of 5 relays and 6 Individual events at Championships!

Big 8 Championships were hosted at DVC in Pleasant Hill. The women's team finished 3rd of 8 teams. The women's team had outstanding team performances and collectively each athlete had season best times. The relay crew of freshman Caitlin Wham, Amber Inderkum with sophomores Audrey Ng and Mia Verwoest won the 200 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relays, with the 200FR and 400MR new school records. Both Caitlin Wham and Mia Verwoest were named Bog 8 Swimmers of the Meet as each won all three of their individual events. Mia swam the 100/200 Back and 200 IM winning all three and qualifying for the state meet in all three. Caitlin swam the 50/100 free and won and set a new Big 8 record in the 100 fly, also qualifying for the state meet in all 3. Sophomore Audrey Ng contributed to the team success with top 3 finishes on the 500 / 1650 Free and 400 IM. As Freshman Amber Inderkum and Sarah Ashby were able to qualify for top 8 finals in all 3 of their events. Several athletes stepped out of their comfort zones to swim Grueling events and score for the teamBrooklyn Higgins-Beck 400 IM & Ai Hoang Thai 200 Fly, Paige Randal 100 Fly. Another highlight of the meet was the 800 Free Relays where Eleora Zamora, Lydia Vlahos, Claire Contreras and Sarah Ashby swam their life time best!

Sophomore Recognition
The State Swim Championships take place next week at SRJC. Only the top 16 athletes in each event / relay qualify. ARC Women's team qualified all 5 relays in the top 4 and will take a team of 7 women to compete. Our State Team is made up of- Sarah Ashby, Amber Inderkum, Audrey Ng, Paige Randal, Mia Verwoest, Caitlin Wham and Santina Zanetta! Go Beavers!!
