Bio

Jake is embarking on his fifth season with the ARC Beavers in 2023 after aiding the football team with the Inner workings of the program since the 2018 season.

The 2022 ARC Beavers capped off a 8-4 season, along with being undefeated in conference play, with a playoff win against Laney. Unfortunately, falling in the NorCal Championship game to the eventual state champion. In another year of taking on new challenges, Kincaid started the 2022 offseason attempting a comeback as a Quarterback until a shoulder reevaluation towards the end of the spring. During the summer, Kincaid reignited his passion for coaching by assisting the Lincoln HS Freshman football program, reeling from losing most of their experienced players to the newly built Twelve Bridges HS. At that same time, Kincaid rejoined his role with the ARC Beavers staff. Up until the start of the season, the schedules aligned so that Kincaid could attend ARC practices/meetings in the mornings and Lincoln Freshman practices/meetings in the afternoon/evenings. Come season, Kincaid spent most of his time and energy at all the practices and games for the Beavers. While occasionally making the drive after ARC practice to LHS Freshman games plus helping with film evaluation on his days off from ARC.

After a year of preparing for post-pandemic play, in 2021 as Operations Coordinator, Jake took on uncharted territory and a bigger role after the retirement of his superior Coach Kushner. Leading a new crop of student assistants and getting the program prepared for competition again following 20 months between seasons because of COVID shutdowns and regulations. The Beavers would finish 6-5, winning the conference but unfortunately falling in the first round of the playoffs in a close contest with the eventual State champion.

During the 2019 season as the Assistant Director of Football Operations under Jerry Kushner, The Beavers were back in the Playoffs, unfortunately falling in the first round for a 8-3 finish on the season. After having a full season under his belt, Kincaid helped lead the other Student Assistants to make sure practices and games went smooth and consistent.

His contributions in 2018 as a Student Assistant served in the effort towards a successful transition year for American River College. The Beavers were named 2018 Gridiron Bowl Champions after a 7-4 finish on the season. During the offseason, Jake’s mentor left for another opportunity causing him to have to figure everything out on the fly under the guidance of Director of Football Operations/Specialists Coach Jerry Kushner. Jake worked to make sure the practice fields were set up, games and practices were filmed, and anything else that needed to be done while assisting in charting and relaying offensive plays during games.

Jake brings an unwavering amount of dedication and grit through adversity, from experience through his playing career. At Lincoln High School, He was a serviceable Quarterback who at times assisted in coaching the offense and play calling during his years on varsity. Kincaid helped the Fighting Zebras to a 8-3 campaign in 2017, and a Pioneer Valley League championship during the 6-5 campaign in 2016. During his Junior and Senior season, on top of being a Student Athlete, he started his Coaching career in the “Pop Warner” Jr Zebras Football program. Coaching the LHS Class of 2022 team while they were 7th and 8th graders, a Class that would finish their High School Careers with a 31-4 record.

Kincaid is currently working on his Associates degree at ARC while being full-time with the Beavers football program. He is also working to transfer shortly after the fall and attend an Out of State University to try his hand at being a Student Assistant at a FBS School given the opportunity.
