Bio

Zach is originally from Fort Bragg California moving to Sacramento in 1994 to attend Sacramento State University.  In 1995 Zach transferred to American River College where he obtained his associates degree before joining Hewlett Packard and finishing up his Bachelor’s degree in business from University of Phoenix.  Shortly after joining Hewlett Packard met his future wife Elizabeth, and now have two children Connor and Chase.

Swithenbank worked at Hewlett Packard for 20 years.  During that time he was a leader in multiple organizations before finishing up his career with HP as the manager of Small and Medium Business.  Zach left Hewlett Packard to prioritize his children’s activities and focus more on his real estate development and marketing companies.  He is still running them to this day.

Zach has been involved in a large number of charities and believes in giving back and helping his community whenever he can.

He became an active member of the Roseville 20/30 Club in 1998, was a board member for a number of years and became club president in 2002.   The club’s mission was to help underprivileged children following the mantra, “A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child."  From that point on he has always been involved in local charities.  Zach served as a board member on the Eureka Schools Foundation where he also helped run large fundraising events to raise money for local schools.  He served as a board member of Child Advocates of Placer County, a branch of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).  CASA programs support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

Swithenbank has been coaching baseball, football, basketball, and more in the community since 2012.  He has coached over 20 teams from the junior levels through high school.  He started a competitive non-profit baseball organization in 2017.  Over five years he grew and expanded the program, to three teams with nine coaches, across two age divisions. Alongside the baseball program he has been running a number of multi-sport clinics in the program’s off-season.  He enjoys coaching and giving back to the community to help young men and women get to the next level in sports and life. Zach speaks to organizations about positivity in sports, goal setting, and planning for the successes and failures in sports, focusing on the mental approach needed for success.

Zach’s combined experience in sales and marketing, non-profit volunteerism and fundraising, coupled with sports development will aid him in the Director of Program Growth & Development position for American River College Football.
