MONTEREY, Calif. – Shasta College's beach volleyball team lost 5-0 against American River College in the program's first beach volleyball match at Monterey Peninsula College on Saturday.

Shasta's duo of Shawnee Church and Emerie Brown were swept in straight sets 21-15, 21-10.

The Knights' Emmarae Westphal and Brooke Vaughan lost 21-15, 21-7.

Jacie Clarevelle and Emma Mangini lost 21-11, 21-11 while Adyson Wright and Natalie Schmidt lost 21-6, 21-11.

Shasta forfeited the fifth match.
