Solano:
The Sacramento City Men's Basketball team opened the Solano tournament with close game against Solano. Sophomore G (#3) Devin Joseph scored 18 points and sophomore G (#11) Marc Burns scored his only points of the game during the first overtime on a game tying three point basket making the score 86-86. The sophomore G (#11) Marc Burns basket forced the game in to the second overtime period. Freshman G (#5) David King scored all of his team leading 22 points in the second half and in both overtime periods including all of the Panthers 8 points scored in the second overtime giving the Panthers a win of 92-90.
Redwoods: The Redwoods game was another close game that the Panthers lost 96-94. Sac City was led by sophomore F (#22) Arnie Vargas 27 points, sophomore F (#55) Brandon Rowden 16 points, freshman guard (#5) David King and sophomore forward (#23) Vic Rustin 10 points.
American River:
The Sac City Panthers were able to bounce back from the close loss to Redwoods and beat American River Beavers and took third place in the Solano Tournament. Freshman G Alex Tsverov scored 18 points (16 points in the second half), sophomore F (#55) Brandon Rowden scored 13 points, sophomore forward (#22) Arnie Vargas scored 12 points, and sophomore forward (#23) Vic Rustin finished with 11 points on the night. The Panthers beat American River by a score of 70-67.
