The Sierra College football team dropped its second straight game on Saturday against the #6 ranked American River College Beavers 63-21 as the Wolverines struggled defensively giving up 32 points in the first quarter alone.

ARC totaled 584 total yards of offense including four rushing touchdowns and three passing touchdowns from Kenny Lueth. The Beavers also had an 87-yard punt return touchdown from Aurelio Filippini in the fourth quarter.

Sierra freshman and Kennedy alumnus Nigellus Irving got his second start of the season and played a solid game with 202 passing yards and three touchdowns. Dontae Robinson caught all three touchdown passes and finished the day with five receptions for 168 yards.

"Nigellus and I have been working together with routes any chance we get and even at times we have a miscommunication, we come together and make adjustments," Robinson said. "I've definitely been staying consistent on communicating and consistency."

Irving was the leading rusher for the Wolverines with four carries for 43 yards. Sierra only totaled 132 yards on the ground with 4.1 yards per carry.

On defense, Jonathan Brown led the way with seven tackles and .5 sacks while Kamari Baker forced a fumble. The Wolverines allowed 9.6 yards per play, the most by an opponent all season.

Sierra is 5-4 overall and tied for third in the NorCal Conference. The Wolverines will now prepare to face Santa Rosa in the final regular season game on Saturday at home. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

"As for my unit, I believe we know what it takes and I know we're all hungry trying to get that shake n bake going," Robinson said.
