PIRATES PULL AWAY LATE TO BEAT BEAVERS

The final week of the regular season is here but the 2022 Beavers had a similar result on Tuesday as Modesto JC defeated the Beavers 12-7.  The game was really close until the 9^th as Modesto held a 4-3 lead going into the 8^th inning.  MJC scored 5 in the top of the 8^th to pull to a 9-3 lead but ARC answered right back with 4 runs- two on an inside the park home run by RF Josiah Taylor (Alpha Charter) to close the gap to 9-7.  Modesto added three more in the 9^th however off of freshman LHP Josh Heinkel (Inderkum).  Freshman RHP Connor Timmins (East Nicolaus) had perhaps his finest start throwing 7 innings and striking out 6.  He had only given up 1 earned run through the first 7 innings when he came out for the 8^th.  He walked the first two batters but the leadoff hitter of the inning should have been out trying to steal 2^nd but the ball was dropped on the tag.  1B Bryce Sidler (Oakmont) had a nice day at the plate going 3x4 with a pair of hit by pitches. 

The two teams will meet again on Thursday in Modesto and then the season finale will be Friday at 2:30 at Beaver Field.
