American River lost a come from behind, extra- inning game on Friday at Hartnell College in Salinas, but then avenged the loss with a 9th inning comeback win on Saturday to split with the Panthers and take two out of three for the week.  On Friday the Beavers spotted the host Panthers a 7-0 lead in the first two innings as sophomore RHP Myles Meyer (Placer) was not sharp.  Freshman LHP Jake Morell (Whitney) came in and did a great job giving the Beavers a chance by throwing 5 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, scattering four hits and striking out 4.  His performance gave ARC a chance to mount a comeback which they did, led by sophomore CF Dominic Ott's (Woodcreek) big day.  Ott was 4x4 with a pair of doubles and a walk and a hit by pitch.  He would have had three doubles if not for a baserunning error in front of him.  Freshman DH Wyatt Bahlke (Woodcreek) launched his first career home run, a two run shot to left center that brought the Beavers to within two runs.  Freshman SS Darin Eales (Bear Creek) hit his first collegiate home run, a solo shot in the 6th inning to make the score 7-6.  The Beavers tied it in the 8th when Bahlke doubled to right to pick up his third RBI of the game.  The game remained scoreless until the 11th when Hartnell got a two out double off of freshman RHP David Centeno (Roseville) to walk the Beavers off of Tony Teresa Field.

The Beavers came back on Saturday in a light rainstorm to score single runs in three of the first four innings while sophomore RHP Connor Timmins (East Nicolaus) shut down Hartnell's offense for the first 5 2/3 innings of the game.  While pitching through rain and hail in the 6th he lost control a bit and Hartnell was able to score a pair of runs to make the score 3-2.  Hartnell went up 4-3 by scoring a pair of runs off of sophomore RHP Christian Lucero (River City) in the 7th.  The Beavers offense, which was mostly silent after the 4th inning waited until there were two outs in the top of the 9th to re-awaken.  3B David Centeno was hit by a pitch with 2 outs and freshman pinch-hitter Duncan Hansen (Del Campo) followed with a single to left.  Ott was then hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Freshman C Aiden Imperial (Bear Creek) then laced a two run single to center to give the Beavers a 5-4 lead.  Centeno went in to pitch the bottom of the 9th and walked the first batter he faced but easily retired the next three to give ARC its first road win of the season.

The Beavers start a three game series with Butte College on Thursday at Butte, then play the RoadRunners at home on Friday and back to Oroville on Saturday.
