HOME OF THE AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS

Mistakes Still Too Much for Beavers to Overcome

Mistakes Still Too Much for Beavers to Overcome

It was pretty much the same story as it has been for all of 2023 so far, as walks and errors led to American River College falling to Solano College 13-6 at home on Tuesday.  Three ARC pitchers combined to walk 9, hit one batter and commit an error, and the Beavers made two other errors that led to multiple unearned runs being scored.  6 of the 13 runs allowed were unearned on Tuesday.  The Beavers fell behind early allowing three runs in the first and in the second innings, but sophomore CF Dominic Ott's (Woodcreek) leadoff triple allowed him to score on freshman 2B Rylon Druck's (Roseville) ground out second in the first inning.  The Beavers tied the game in the 2nd at 6-6 thanks to five runs, several of which were unearned on Solano's side.  Ott laced a two run single to right center.  He also singled in the 4th inning and stole two bases on the day.  He was 3x4 on the day with a pair of RBI and a pair of stolen bases.

The Beavers will travel to Solano tomorrow (Wednesday) instead of Thursday to try to beat the incoming rain predicted for Thursday.  Game time is 1:00 p.m. in Fairfield.
