Beavers Drop Non-Conference Game at Ohlone

In the final non-conference game of the season for the American River College baseball team the same mistakes cost the Beavers again as they dropped the game 13-2 in Fremont.  Sophomore RHP Connor Timmins (East Nicolaus) was on the mound in what was scheduled to be a short start in between conference weeks.  He got through the first but the second inning saw the Ohlone leadoff hitter reach on an error followed by a walk and a single to load the bases with no outs.  After a ground ball to third forced the runner at the plate and a Timmins strikeout of the 9 hitter it looked like he might work out of the jam.  But Ohlone's leadoff hitter popped a grand slam just over the 315 sign in left field for a 4-0 Ohlone lead.  The Renegades added two more in the third and the Beavers were left to play catch up from there.  The bright spot at the plate was a solo home run for freshman C Aiden Imperial (Bear Creek), his first career college home run.  Freshman RF Marcus Babauta (St. Mary's) added a double and a pair of walks and sophomore 1B Willie Tatum III (Grant) tripled in a run in the top of the 7th.  The Beavers will be off the rest of the week but return to BIG 8 Conference action next week with a three game series against Sierra College.
