If the American River College baseball team could have a mulligan for the first two innings against Diablo Valley College on Thursday it would have been a great day.  Sophomore RHP Connor Timmins (East Nicolaus) struggled early, allowing three runs in the first and three in the second, but only one Viking reached base from the 3^rd thru the end of the game but the offense couldn't quite make up the difference and the Beavers fell 7-4.  Timmins faced 17 batters through the first two innings but found his groove and faced just 10 over the next 3 innings to keep the game close.  Sophomore RHP Myles Meyer (Placer) was dominant as he struck out 5 of the 6 he faced and sophomore RHP Christian Lucero (River City) had a three up, three down bottom of the 8^th. 

The Beavers got on the board in the 4^th inning when freshman 1B Jake Morell (Whitney) doubled home a pair of runs to make the score 6-2.  Freshman 3B Anthony Packard (Colfax) scored him from third with two outs when his ground ball was mishandled by DVC's third baseman.  ARC got another run in the 5^th to make it 6-4 when freshman DH Evan Rice (Woodcreek) singled home freshman 2B David Centeno (Roseville) with two outs.  Sophomore CF Dominic Ott (Woodcreek) had a pair of singles and a stolen base on the day and Jake Morell had a single and a double with a pair of RBI.

The two teams meet at Beaver Field on Friday at 1:00 pm and then again on Saturday at noon.
