Beavers Blanked by Bear Cubs
The ARC Baseball team once again got into an early hole against the top-ranked Santa Rosa JC Bear Cubs on Tuesday and couldn't work its way back falling 6-0 in Santa Rosa. After failing to score in the top of the first Santa Rosa's lead off batter walked off of starter Connor Timmins (East Nicolaus). The Beavers then quickly found themselves in a 2-0 hole after the second batter homered over the left field fence on a 2-1 pitch. Timmins also allowed three runs, two earned in the 2nd inning putting the Beavers down 5-0. Timmins threw 53 pitches in the first two innings but then found his groove, allowing just one hit on 39 pitches over the next three innings. Offensively the Beavers out-hit Santa Rosa on the day 8-7 and they had runners on base in 7 of the 9 innings but couldn't get the big hit. Freshman SS Darin Eales (Bear Creek) had a pair of hits on the day. The two teams will meet again on Thursday at Beaver Field at 2:30 pm.
