Beavers Lose Game and More on Thursday

Thursday was a rough day and then some for American River College.  Not only did they lose the game and the series to cross-town rival Sac City College, but a major collision in left field between LF Wyatt Bahlke (Woodcreek) and SS Darin Eales (Bear Creek) will force both to miss the season finale on Friday.  Both had to leave the game and went to the hospital but both are ok with just minor injuries.  The Beavers offense couldn't get the clutch hitting that they needed as they stranded 9 runners and managed to score only one, that on a double by 1B Jake Morell (Whitney) which brought home DH Jullian Blackwell (EastRidge) who had singled and stolen second.  Freshman Tyler Moore (Del Campo) once again had a quick first inning but ran into trouble in the 2nd and 3rd innings, as Sac City plated 3 runs in the 2nd inning and then 6 in the 3rd.  Two of the runs scored on the collision between Eales and Bahlke as Eales did manage to hold on to the ball for a catch.  The Beavers defense was shaky all game as they committed three errors and several other balls fell in that could have been caught.  On the mound sophomore Nick Rosemont (Inderkum) was a bright spot as he worked two innings in relief allowing just one baserunner.  The two teams will face off in the final regular season game on Friday at Beaver Field at 2:30 pm.
